AOL 9.0 Accused of Behaving Like Badware
Update: Anti-malware group says the software deceives users and interferes with computer use.

I had a system in the shop a while back that was in bad shape due to AOL 9.0 ... I called AOL to try to get it to work, and ther eresponse was "There is no way our software could cause any problems."

He hung up while I was still laughing.

ok, learning something here. I try to stay on top of my protection software and am having problems with my Internet Explorer and use AOL 9 .0..
Any suggestions as to a better way to cyber surf?

well, there is a better way. i use netscape as the browser, have spyware blaster and zone alarm running in the background. and scan at least once a week with adaware and avg. when i did this, i never had any more issues with anything messing up my computer.

ok that is what I am pretty much doing, I have all the programs you suggested and pretty much run them on a regular basis... I use AOL and Internet Explorer but that is what is messing up on me, the IE, some days it will work other days it wont..

I thought AOL might of had something to do with that.

it may, but i wouldn't know without sitting in front of the computer. i have never had aol, or used it but once or twice on my cuz's.

oh thats ok its just tupperware with brains, I can always just take it out back and shoot it for the labtop of my dreams..
