I found out about this from Robert Ludlum
![]() I have seen one video that showed that you can get them for free from some keysmiths. But in addition to $10 you also need something like a ... hammer or something so you can "bump" it in, although Robert Ludlum says that the spine of a thick paperback book would do just fine ![]()

Woe, that isn't good. Why do they let anyone get hold of them?
Does it still work on 11 locks in one doors? Well, we leave the key in the door at night so you can't open it anyway...

I do the same Joe - with the key left in the lock, it makes things more difficult. Doesn't seem to affect 5 lever mortice locks though. And I have an alarm...

.... you guys should try living in South Africa. Ya need Titanium bars to keep out unwanted guests - 11 locks isn't overkill in some places here - it's too few LOL.

I dunno, sounds like a marketing scheme to me... if it only takes one key, and its all in one, that sounds like a plain old lock to me.

I have uPVC double glazing as well (it's needed in Scotland believe me!) and I saw a demonstration before the company installed them. The guys trying to break in just couldn't do it. Besides, the locks are on the inside
Most thieves are only willing to try for a minute or two - if it's too difficult they'll move on and try somewhere easier.

Ummm, hate to say this guys but I rarely lock my doors. And no, I don't live out in the sticks. But I do have a mutt who doesn't like strange men and nosy neighbors...that combo is much better than 11 locks.
I also disagree about dorms. My son got his MP3 player stolen last term. When I asked how, he said "they were just sitting around and somebody from another floor walked in a pocketed it." I asked if his door was locked? "Locked? We never even close them." ![]() |

We only lock are doors at night, or when we are out, so people can just walk in, but lucky the doors scweek. So we would hear them. And we have a watchful nabourhoud. Like most places around here...
