Judge detains five people for cellphones ringing in her court

A judge detained and questioned a row of spectators when a cell phone rang for a third time in her courtroom, later ordering two people to serve community service for contempt of court.

ps : I can understand punishing the guy whose cell phone went off, but the people around him who didn't rat on him too?

lol, in the army, if you witness the wrong, you are just as guilty.. honestly, are you innocent if you knew someone was wrong? and you didnt fess up when directly asked?

I hate people that drive and talk on their cell phones. Their mind is on the conversation and not on driving. If you want to talk on the phone while you are driving, GET THE F**K OUT OF MY WAY AND LET ME PASS YOUR SORRY A**!!!!! Doing 45 on a 2 lane highway in a 60MPH zone is bullsh**.

Now that I've vented, I feel better.

You maybe want to start a new thread in Rants & Raves Joe.

However, I agree with you 1000%. It is now an offence to use your mobile while driving in this country (other than an approved hands free kit) but I'd love to see statistics for the number of people prosecuted. I doubt it would reach three figures.

Driving whil using a cell has been found to be as BAD as driving with a .08 BAC.
