Well, the way I see it, a turtle looses its shell for one reason and one reason only,,,, to make soup!!! And the shell makes a nice bowl too...MMMMM

I think that a turtle without a shell is naked, homeless, and dead- their backbones are a part of the shell, which they cannot live without.
