Presa Canarios

Attraction to exotic dogs was fatal
Shawna Willey's expensive but beloved Presa Canarios grew big and dangerous.

PS : are these dogs or some kind of "Terminators" ?

Get those dogs under control!
This is quite bad though...
Dogs should be trained fully, and well. Anyone who doesn't train their dogs properly, are stupid, and selfish.

I don't like those sort of dogs, I perfer just the friendly, playfull, but not too playfull, and non-barking ones...

ya know. Dogs can be trained until "Kingdom come", but they are still animals. I love dogs! I grew up with a Doberman Pinscher for 14 years and that was the lovely-est, nicest, most beautiful, family oriented dog that I have ever come in contact with to date, but there was a time when she was out in the yard (we lived in the country. nearest neighbor was on the other side of a hay field) with us and she took off after a guy riding his bike on the road and knocked him off of it. He didn't persue any legal action luckily, but in 14 years, that was the only time she dis-obeyed a command. She was trained to be a family dog, but protect when commanded or necessary so something still triggered in her head that day. She was still an animal after all. (dang I miss that dog. I loved her to death! makes me wanna cry just thinking about her. She died when I was 17 and I still think about her)

I hate to inform you. Those sort of dogs will never exist. Its called nature. Dogs, like everyone before me has said, are animals and have natural instincts.

My view is obviuosly predjudced seeing as i have a dog but i still feel strongly about this issue.

Ha! Wrong. Well, in the way, for them not to meanly bark. On south road, just a road away from us, there is 2 amazingly well trained dogs. They are never agressive, and never bark meanly, the make a soft sort of light bark, occasionally. Can't really discribe it, but I wouldn't really call it a bark. But anyway, they are lovely dogs, and very friendly. This is what I mean by non barking.

Some dogs have their vocal cords cut to keep them from barking. What you describe, Joe, sounds like that.

No, I don't think so, they are just generally calm and sweet.

That's also a good possibility.

When I was a child I had a chow chow who was probably the most obedient and well behaved dog EVAR. He followed any command, never barked, knew how to fight with me, and everything else that makes a great dog great.

It hurt so much when my mom had the animal control people eventually take him from me.

Sounds like a great dog, why did they take him away?

Child: "Mister. Does your dog bite?"

Responsible dog owner: "Not yet"

As has been said here, people forget that dogs are animals. And they're pack animals at that. If you think about them that way their behavior becomes less random. The family becomes the pack. They'll play. They'll wrestle. They'll try to win dominance. But will generally not harm another member of their pack. Unless, that member tries to take over the position in the pack that they feel they've earned. That is probably what happened here.

Now enter an outsider. Gammer's bike rider was not a member of the pack so he's invading the pack's established territory and must be driven away.

BTW: I love dogs. I hate these type stories because they don't need to happen. There are plenty of nice gentle 30 lb dogs just waiting to be adopted. There's no reason - except ego - that that woman needed 2 x 120 lb dogs.

I love dogs, though I would never have one. Simply because they take too much time and effort to look after. They are not one of me, so it doesn't matter...

Did anyone hear about this:
A king, or Prince, can't remember which, had a dog that he loved, and trusted all time, and took everywhere, but one day, he couldn't find the dog, and he had to go somewhere. When he got back, the dog had blood all over it, and the owner came to think that the dog had killed his son, being so mad, he killed the dog, then, he found his son, still alive, and the dog had infact saved his son from a wolf. He never smiled again, because he was just so sad about what he did.
