Now, check THIS out!!!

You've most probably heard of the Smart automobile, which by the way is extremely popular in Athens.

It's been a few days that my local Smart dealership brought and exhibits this "monsterized" version:
I thought it would be interesting for all of you to see, because (1) it's not every day that one sees a monster-car outside his home and (2) this is the only monster-smart I've ever heard of! Plus they've added funny stuff, like the winders over each of the rear wheels.

Today that I shot it the dealership was closed, but if anyone is interested in buying it, I can go and ask what's the deal.

(I know of at least one Scots who would gladly use it to run over some of his so-called "friends"...)

That must be one seriously underpowered and slow automobile. Aren't those things only like 50HP?

I don't know the details; it looks that it doesn't use the standard-issue engine, though. You can't imagine what European tuners do to these engines... but I'm gonna ask the guys at the dealeship to find out for sure.

To all of you mentioning "rednecking the car"... if I find it cool, does this mean I have to go and see a doctor?
Or, even better, move to the Midwest?

That's nice. It's a good thing they're light, otherwise they'd really lag.

When I went to Germany with my classmates, we were going to prank someone by picking up their smartcar and turn it in the opposite direction

It never happened though. But I guess it would have worked- it's 500 pounds or so, divided by 7 or 8 people lifting it, which would be a very manageable per-person weight. We decided against it because it probably would have set off the alarm.

Well, I'm not very much into Smarts, yet I found out that the hottest trend is the Smartuki:
A Smart fortwo with the engine from the Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle! Are you ready?

0-60 in 4.2 seconds
1/4 mile in 12.4 seconds
top speed 132mph

Here's the article: Smart Car plus GSXR equals “Smartuki,” a VERY Smart Car

And here's a video of a Smartuki from another builder: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIkwdv1kvmo
