I've been told on another site that Snopes lists this as being false....but personally, I'd say play it safe...register it anyway!

umm why would "they" (dunno who..but some telco boss) release all the numbers...wouldn't that violate some kinda privacy law?

Why do you call them cell phones? We just call them mobile phones, it suits what the are more...

We call them "cell" phones because of the nature of the wireless networks. The poles (sometimes called "trees") send signals only a certian distance. These pockets of signal range are called cells. As you travel, you are passed from one pole to another, or one cell to another.

not quite eb. cell is short for celuar, so cell phone is short for celuar phone. its mainly we are lazy americans.

I think the difference is because we call the tower the cellular base station, and in British English it's known as a 'mast'.

Sorry, sinclair, but EB is right regarding why the cellular phones are called like this. I'm citing from Wikipedia:
