Power is all well and good, but can it put that power to effective use?

My 928s4 (1988) had 316bhp, and it used every bit of it (topped out at 171mph, and could handle like a go-kart).

Now, you want to see amazing power that is actually utilized .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWt20qj6S9o

The Bugatti Veyron. 1001bhp, top speed of 250mph.

To give you an idea of the power, a Veyron and a McLaren F1 line up. The McLaren is given a head start to 120mph, when the Veyron takes off. The Veyron will reach 200mph before the McLaren.

0-200mph faster than 120mph-200mph. And the F1 (street legal, BTW) is no slouch, turning a 0-60mph time of 3.4 seconds, topping out at 240mph.

good grief! I've heard about the Veyron and seen a picture, but I didn't know it was that much of a rocket!

I think if I had a choice to get a sports car that was obtainable right now, it'd be a skyline. They are pretty fast from the get-go. You can get one imported fom Japan for about 20K or so. Japan has so high of taxes and testing on their cars, that it's sometimes cheaper to buy a new car then to have it retested every 2 or 4 years (can't remember which it is). So if you look hard enough, you can find mint-condition cars over there with only 20-30K miles for about 12-13K (then import/shipping fees). Toyota actually has lots full of N.O.S. (New - Old Stock) Supra's sitting around. Brand new for their respective years, but never sold.

When I lived in Japan (1992-1996) I saw a lot of those "used" cars. You're right, the cost of JCI (Japanese Compulsury Insurance) plus Road Tax plus the Bi-annual Inspection is a backbreaker.

Cool car though, very fast, though I think they said that it would be better with a better spoiler, well, that is what everyone told me they said...

Yep. They had the koenigsegg on the Track without a spoiler and "The Stigg" Crashed it, so koenigsegg added a spoiler onto the back and it went around the track again, setting a new Lap Record

A fast car is a car which can go at high speeds, without blowing the engine, and / or can accelorate very fast. All of which, an American musical can't do. They are slow, and look UGLY! They arn't even practical. So, overall, they are crap.

Wow joe, you're pretty opinionated when it comes to cars you've never ridden in.

I'll take you for a ride in my dad's Mustang GT- maybe that will knock some sense into you. I'd say it fits all of your criteria and then some; it is a damn fast car.
