Only in Florida : Parents Realize Next Day They Left Son At Chuck E. Cheese
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A 6-year-old Florida boy who was accidentally left behind by his family after they celebrated his birthday at a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant will temporarily remain in state custody.
A judge said the state Department of Children and Families will likely determine Tuesday whether Michael Emanuel can live temporarily with a relative. Emanuel's family said they accidentally left him Saturday night and didn't notice he was missing until the next day. Each relative thought the child was with another family member. Employees at the Boca Raton restaurant called police and the child was taken into state custody. An attorney for the boy's mother told the judge there were 12 youngsters at the party and as they all piled into cars to leave, the boy was simply overlooked. http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/story?se...rld&id=4241740

How can people be so complacent about their own flesh and blood?! They simply should know their children's whereabouts, no excuses. Morons, I'd put them in jail and have some sense kicked into them. Children should be the most important thing in a parent's life!!

My daughter is 6 and we went to a part with a butt load of kids and we didn't forget her. If I can't see her I ask my wife if she has seen her. When we are in public, we always know where all 3 kids are.

if this didn't happen very often than they wouldn't have made several movies about it. the parents do need some time to think about it, but i'm sure that they won't do it again. now if they have a history of doing this, then i'd agree with the state, but if this the only time, then i think the state is going over board.

A sad story from a few years back. A dad left the baby in the back seat of the Suburban. When into a meeting (so he says) and the poor kid dies from the heat. The dad said he though the kid was with his mom.
The problem is we can't sentence him to have his huevos removed so he can still pollute the gene pool. Same with these geniuses.
