Library Employee Steals Rare Books to Sell on Ebay

A Manchester City Council library employee has been arrested after stealing hundreds of rare books from the Central Library to flog on Ebay. A book collector spotted the items on the site and must have known they were owned by MCC and reported it. One book is said to be 300 years old and worth £20,000.

I thought this was against the library code? Or I imagine would be if one existed. Librarians have always been a shifty group; sitting there reading their book, then walk up to the counter and they don't look up right away so they can finish their precious paragraph!

I actually love books and would love to have my own library of them. New and old I love them all!

I wonder if they got a good copy of The Form of the Book and The Medium is the Massage. I haven't been able to find the former at a price worth paying, and my copy of the latter has alittle gloss...
