School Transfer

Ok so I was going to Park University in Idaho while I was in the military but when I got out I transfered to a texas school and they just jacked my credits up. I need to take calculas 2 but they will not let me take it because I never took pre-calculas. However I have already take trig and calculas 1. Then texas requires 3 programming classes for my degree I have taken 2 already and they count for 2 and 3 so now I have to go back and take intro to programming. Well a long short short I went from 54 credit to 16. They really should standardize things between states.

no kiddin! they are giving you the shaft! Is there anything you can do to show that you are qualified to take that class?

Do they allow you to challenge a class? Take the final pass the class?

Every school will demand you take a certain portion of your credits from them; its their way of defending their degrees. Imagine if they didn't. I go to East Podunk U for all but one class then to MIT for senior level Enginerring Ethics. BS in Nuclear Engineering from MIT???

I'd fight it. When my wife went back to college after 20 years she got some credits for "aquired life knowledge" or some such thing.

Well I finally convinced them tonight to let me take calculas but I still only get to keep 16 hours and I have to take intro to programming.

Oh well at least I am not planning on moving again.

that sucks. college transfers are alot more complicated then HS, MS, and LS transfers
