Smoking

Ever wondered who at TSF was smoker? I have. So here is the poll.
I smoked from 1987-1998. Haven't had one since. (But every now and then, I really really want one......... then it passes)

Current social smoker here. I only imbibe solo when having a REALLY stressful day.

Quit May 21st, 2005. I made it to a year and I couldn't care less for it now. My blood doesn't need persuading to get all the way to my fingertips now which is a nice feeling in the morning.

I don't mind smokers though and even let them into my home, I quit while I was living in a flat with two smokers so I'm immune to temptation. Feels good, just as good as smoking did after a long day.

Never! It basically killed my dad so I have little tolerance for it. When I see the public service announcements on TV admonishing me to “Talk to your kids about smoking” I turn to whichever one is present and say simply “Don’t smoke!”

I wouldn't argue with some psycho parent yelling that at my face. I probably wouldn't start smoking either.

I started smoking when I was 15. You know the whole teenage rebelion thing. I regret iit all the time but I have been smoke free for about 2 years now.

But I have been know to smoke a good cigar every once and a while. However that is like maybe one every three months or so.

Smoked from the age of 13. Got cancer aged 40. It doesn't only cause cancer in the lungs. Had a kidney removed and some bits in the bladder zapped with a laser. Stopped smoking aged 42. Very fit 61 year old now. I can still out-ride my children and grandchildren in proper off-road mountain biking. So, I'm an ex-smoker now. The worse kind of person that smokers can come across Just kidding, I don't mind being where people smoke. I dunno how people afford it these days though.

I gave up cigarettes several years ago. Still like a fine cigar from time to time.

I love it when I see someone hauling around a 3lb oxygen canister in the left hand and a cigarette in the right.

Have smoked, but never had much trouble quitting.

I personally love the TRUTH ad campaign! Good points! My grandma (on my moms side) died at 61 from an aneurism (sp?) due to smoking since she was 13. A lot of my aunts and uncles that smoked have quit so I'm not around it much, but I used to be. My grandpa (on my dads side) who has never smoked a single cigarette just got diagnosed with emphazima! Now that was unexpected!

I generally smoke one or two a week, and usually just after a long day at work (go in at 8:30a.m. and don't get off till midnight)

never have, never will. and i avoid people while they smoke. i'm very sensitive to it and start coughing and having problems breathing if it gets too thick.

i have a question that i've always wanted answered, being it smells so bad, and most that smoke their first almost gags on it, what poseses you to do it in the first place, or to keep doing it to get used to it? its really up to you if you want to answer, its just something that i have thrown out there.

I smoke, but not in the house, nor anyone else's house (although I have one friend who also smokes).

I'm not a heavy smoker though (compared to some I guess), usually 10 a day. I'm well used to being a social parriah so it doesn't bother me. Give up? Tried a couple of times - my wife eventually ordered me back on them - said I was hell to live with (even more than usual ) and she couldn't put up with me any more.

sinclair - I guess it was peer pressure and wanting to 'fit in', be part of the 'gang', not be the 'weirdo loner' etc etc - I'm sure you get the picture.

If I was religious, would this count as a confession?
