Hi all. Just wanted to say hello. I'm not totally new to computers, and have *some* knowledge (basic stuff). I (for now) run W98SE, but will have to upgrade to XP Home by early summer (as you know, no further Windows Updates). It scares me, because I don't even know how to navigate XP (can't even find Temp Internet Files). I'm nearly 60, and did not grow up with these new-fangled computer machine contraptions What I've learned has been self-taught, by reading various forums and some in books. Now, I've gotten Paint Shop Pro 7.4, and am pulling my hair out with it (not that I can afford to lose any more ) Still, I see that it can do so much more than MS Paint (which is all I've had until now) that it is worth spending more time on.

Anyway, that's about where I stand. I guess I'm somewhere between novice and intermediate, and know some basics about security (I use AVG free A/V, ZoneAlarm, spywareguard & spywareblaster) while online, all updated regularly, and I also run AdAware and Spybot S&D offline every week or two. Since I've been using these, I haven't had any real computer problems.

In any case, nice to meet you. I have no computer problems at the moment to post about, but will be reading through the forums for awhile.

Best to all.....fixitman1

From a fellow folical challenged user, Welcome to TSF.

Don't sell yourself short - you know more than 90% of the users - most importantly how to protect yourself. The experts here can help you learn the rest. And you don't have to have problems to post. Check out the Visual Arts forum for discussions about Paint and other topics of interest.
