Hi all :)

I'm new here.

My current computer still runs Win98 - I thought it's time for a new system. So I'm needing some help building a new XP system.

I also fool around with Visual Basic 6 for fun in my spare time. Anyone else still use it?

Cheers!
Becky

Re: Hi all :)

Hey and welcome to the forum!
A great place to ask for help with building a new system is the building section under hardware. I also recommend building a windows 7 computer as xp itself is becoming outdated. VB6 is better than vb08 In my opinion, My vb class in high school uses vb6, it's great!

Once again welcome to the forum!

Re: Hi all :)

Hey beck, welcome to TSF!

Have to agree with Zealex, windows 7 would be the way to go, the interface is a bit differen, compared to '98, but you'll get used to it quickly. I'm an old xp diehard, at least I was, until 7. Totally skipped vista, thankfully.
Make a new thread in building, there's a sticky there that'll give us an idea on what you want out of a computer. Just copy the questions and paste them into a new post, your answers will give us a clue.

Re: Hi all :)

Thanks -

I already bought the XP CD. I didn't want Vista, and 7 wasn't out yet when I started buying my parts.

Bummer, sounds as if I should have waited.
