Is it okay to answer a thread when you really don't know the answer?

Hi everyone,

just for fun i have been posting stupid answers to threads ofcourse without offending anyone. It's purely for fun and little laugh and not to piss someone off or not to make fun of someone who's got a problem with the machine.

Is it okay to do so or is it considered bad here?

Re: Is it okay to answer a thread when you really don't know the answer?

Imagine you posted about a major problem you are experiencing and you get an alert telling you there is a reply to your thread.
You log in only to find it's some joker posting irrelevant rubbish.

How would you feel?
Does that answer your question?

If you don't know the answer then either say so (at least the OP knows s/he isn't being ignored) or else stay away.
