Hey There,
I'm so new here I squeak and have to tell you this site ROCKS! After more than a year of searching a mic issue using WIN98 SE, FINALLY thanks to DANROAK, (hope I spelled it correctly) a posted answer to a subscriber's question gave me the green light on being able to voice for the first time!! I had to get that "kudos" in again! I'm a "would be writer" working on my first novel and had a serious bite so far. Needless to say, my computer is the center of my universe at the moment but one that I share with my American Rottweiler, Jessica Lynne and 18 year old cat, Freeman. Ok, they're the center; the computer comes in 3rd! I won't tell you my exact age but suffice it to say, I'm from the generation that remembers burning bras, marches and Vietnam. What I will tell you is, the oldest anyone has EVER EVER guessed is 34! This girl is loving life I can tell ya! ![]() Right now, unfortunately, I'm on medical disability with an incredibly screwed up back but as long as they make painkillers...I'm good til something better comes along like maybe a BACK TRANSPLANT!! I'm really looking forward to learning as much as I can and meeting all of you. Take care and have a good one! |

Thanks that's so nice Bry. You'll be hearing so much from me, you'll begin to hate the color RED!!!
![]() Dan, You're my new hero dude! And the back? It's been this way for way too long but good and bad days. It'll get better, it has no choice! The book? Well, the long and short of it...a tale of two women from the North, organized, controlled, and one from the South, zany, redheaded wild child...hmmm? who could that be??? Its about their lives, adventures and with an ending guaranteed to be NOT what you expect and one that will leave your mouth hanging open or so the potential publisher said! We'll see...long way to go yet and never quite happy with it...but that's how all writers are as I'm being told! Will keep ya posted! Keep your fingers crossed for me! Hi Red,
Welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy hanging out with people who are normal (rest of the world is crazy) the majority of the time. I have a son who lives in Roanoke, VA and he never wants to come back to Indiana. Oh well, way it goes. Take care and enjoy your writing while watching what is going on in here. Nice to have you here. |

Mark, you guys are great! Thanks for the welcome. I feel like I just came into a really great place, found a big comfy chair, and just kicked my shoes off! Not to worry, just gave myself a pedicure too!
I've been to Roanoke and its beautiful. Autumn is my favorite time of year anywhere but especially in that area. The colors are so vibrant; they seem to dance! I surely do understand him not wanting to return Mark because there is something about living in that part of the country that does it. I have no doubt he misses his Mom and Dad; you can rest assured of that. Living in that area brings you back to basics and Moms and Dads teach us the basics, right? I've got kin in New Albany IN and right across the Ohio River located in Louisville KY. The "kin" part is the "ridge runner" still in my genes from my Daddy! The other part I got from him is 3/4 Blackfoot Indian and 1/4 Apache -- Mama was pure Irish! Having said that, you could definitely put your money on the fact, my childhood home knew VERY VERY few quiet moments!Just out of curiousity, is there a place here on the site where we can post things that we're inquiring about, i.e. writer's software or asking suggestions or feedback on what other members may think about a certain product related to how it works on computers? Being a newbie, I wasn't really sure. If we don't have such a place here on the site, as an idea, could we possibly add one? Just a thought of course--but you know how those vocal redheads are don't you? If you add to the mix, a SOUTHERN redhead--need I say more! ![]() Thanks again for the wonderful welcome gang! Its GREAT meeting ya'll. |

DAN: No go on the Chiropracters here in Richmond. I had disc surgery in '85 and they won't touch me. Haven't found one that said I was a candidate--bummer!
As far as publishing, nothing yet which is why this seems so amazing to me. My sister and brother.in.law are published poets. Well THAT's not so amazing, they really are very talented! Their publisher read a bit of what was written and he loved it! Go figure!! So, looks like I'm going down that road called "Leap of Faith Avenue." He advised if I stay within the same genre he believes it will be a best seller! We'll see. What have I got to lose, right? Plus, I have them to thank for finally getting me off my "southern most end" and on with the program! I've been wanting to do this for so long but frankly, didn't think I had a snowball's chance in a MUCH warmer climate!! Know what I mean? So here's hoping and I'll keep you guys posted on the results.Normal people here? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! and I'm loving it!!!! Besides, I'll fit right in! I'm about 2 french fries short of a Happy Meal anyway!! I'll be checking out that link you gave me as well. Earthlink has had a bad case of the hiccups the past couple of days or is just plain being moody, not sure which at this point; I just know its plucking my last nerve! No comment about redheads huh? Smart man!!!!!! HORSE: Thanks for the welcome. No doubt about it, I'm learning already and loving every second of it too! WALT: Resident stalker?!? You're a hoot and I'm absolutely lovin' this guy! I was cracking up this morning when I read that!! Good job dude!
