PC's and working on them have been a hobby of mine for over 10 years now, I got into fighting Viruses and Malware at least 9 years ago I didn't get on the web right away, I learned how to build and operate them first.. lucky me :)
My first PC was a used Dell optiplex 486/66 and it was when pentium 1 first came out, so right out of the gates I had to do some upgrading.. ie, SCzi card (for external drive) CPU (yes AMD chips were inter-changeable with Intel then) and sound card (awe 64). But as soon as I was on the web (had Norton) I had Virus issues. I bought my Norton CD @ a PC trade show. and was told it updated for life (wrong) and then went out and bought the Internet Security package. and still had problems. so started to do lots of reading (once my PC was fixed) and found other programs out there to help protect my PC and saw many different issues arise depending which ones I used. So my main focus was to find which ones actually work and which ones do not, I have tested quite a few and have written a couple of reviews and just did one recently on another board because I saw people including well respected admin and moderators still using these apps. Well I am no Harvard or MIT grad but I know more than most when it comes to these so I would like to post some of my reviews and findings on your board to help teach others what I have learned. My reviews may seem a little rough so if the admin or mods would like me to make a few changes with them I have no problem, again I'm no Doctor or Lawyer but I will tell you what programs actually work and what ones do not.. no matter who the company is I will give my honest opinion.
