Howdy

Hi folks. My name is Bob Im from San Diego CA. I started messing with computers in 2000 at a tech school I went to. We studied A+ for a while Flash and eventually Cisco. I didnt have enough money back then to take any of the tests but I figured having the knowledge was good enough. I took the same approach in college with Flash, Photoshop, and a few other programs. Not going for any specific degree, just for the knowledge. I left college becuse I had to work (construction) putting most of my technical know how away for a while. I still built a couple computers for friends and would help people install programs or whatever but after a while I began to feel more and more lost when the topic of computers came up. Life moves on and Im a pizza cook now (a good one I'll add.. http://www.pbtaproom.com/photosemployees.html ) and I am trying to relearn things I have forgotten, catch up with all the new technology, and gain some new skills too. I bought A+ for dummies about a month ago and am almost done with it.. book doubled in size in the last few years.. I feel like Im ready to take the test. I think Ill take it after the new year. I am looking into learning some type of programming language (the reason I joined TSR) because, well work is slowing down everywhere and I feel the need to add a new trade or two to the box.
Other than that.. I quit smoking cigarettes 3 days go. I run a small wildlife conservation group. I broke my leg pretty bad skating last year. I have a dog, his name is Buster. Scotch and ice not tequila and lime. My girlfriend is a graphic designer. I take the bus because Im broke.

Re: Howdy

Hi Bob. Welcome aboard. :wave;
Sorry to hear about your problems. I hope the immediate ones like your broken leg soon improve. Being broke....well, that's another thing in this economic climate. At least we can provide some distraction. Try some of the threads in Offline, particularly the ones with lots of replies. That way you'll get to meet people.
