My 3 year old downloaded malware... which is why I'm here.
Hi everyone,
Through computing activities at his pre-school my 3 yo has become rather hot on the PC. I can sit with him and he'll happily play simple games for ages (if I let him), he can even shut down the PC if I ask him to. Just occasionally when things are not going to plan he has these bursts of random mouse clicking which normally are OK, but this time he's got me infected with a malware thing called "The NetAdv". It's a pain in the *** if you've got it, but actually having followed some instructions here, it took less than an hour to restore my computer to almost complete normality. Thanks for that. One of the things that tends to happen here is that the person making the equiry of a site like this disappears without ever saying, "hey it's all fixed, thanks a lot", so I'm never sure if the job is complete or not. I resolve not to be a person like that. So the reason why I signed up is because I think I have a residual annoying problem possibly associated with the malware which I can't get rid of, so I'm looking for some expert help. - the problem is that once I went through the process of clearing the malware using SmitFraudFix, I then had to restore IE7 to its default settings. As soon as I did this it established www.msn.com as the homepage, and I can't do anything to remove it, each time I delete it or replace it just keeps on coming back. So before I post a thread, maybe somebody already knows the solution to my problem. Yours with massive respect, Mark London. Married with 1 kid and other on the way (currently at work, on lunch). Hi there Mark. Welcome aboard.
![]() You won't get your query answered here as this forum is for introductions only. If you think you are infected, I suggest you follow the five steps here and post a Deckard's System Scan in the HijackThis Log Help forum.
