Re: New to Area
I feel that Microsoft has really screwed up their system. Up until the beginning of this year, I used to back up my system every night. This allowed me to re-install the backup if there was ever a problem. Around the beginning of this year, I had a crash but O couldn’t recover from it. Every time I recovered the system, The hard drive (backup) crashed and it never re-installed the system. After playing with it for awhile it looked like the problem was in the SP2. I have decided that in order to get the system backup, I would remove the SP2 from the system before backing up my system.
Has anyone come across this same situation and has anyone come up with a solution to the backup problem. |

Re: New to Area
SP2 doesn't normally cause that kind of problem. I've restored backups from SP2 with no problem, so has millions of people that use XP.
usually when I have problems like that I have 2 options; 1. Spend countless hours of my already busy life trying to troubleshoot it. 2. Spend a few hours re-installing the OS and my programs. I prefer #2.
