Enough with the Laos-y jokes, please

Hi folks,
I stumbled on this site awhile back while frustrated with McAfee's customer non-support as I tried to shake off a virus. You guys spent a week helping me not only to remove the thing but also get my computer working well again.

Then a few weeks ago I sort of inherited the job of computer manager at the relief and development centre I work at in Laos (that's in SE Asia, for the geographically-challenged among us). I'm not qualified for the job, but I'm less of a liability than the rest of the teachers there so I'm IT now, so to speak. I have a feeling I'll be posting "Help!" type threads quite a bit in the near future. :)

Thanks again for all you guys do - you're heroes!

Greetings from ODCOMBE, SW England!

I know how you feel! I emigrated to a place thousands of miles away. At that time, the only job available was stuffing corks in bottles at a wine factory. The following day, I was promoted to line supervisor because of a unique skill I possesed.... I could speak English!
