Re: Hi folks! First time poster..

Thanks guys,
Say what do the blue/red, open/closed, stared/circled, files next to a thread mean? Also does a thread count as answered if only I've added posts myself with more info? Didn't know where else to ask these questions...

Re: Hi folks! First time poster..

Hello and welcome to TSF, I hope you enjoy it here!

I will have a shot at answering your Q's

Quote:
Say what do the blue/red,
usually if it is red it means there has been alot of posts and it is an 'Active thread, or it has been a old thread that another member has posted in it to bring it active again.

Quote:
open/closed,
If a thread has been closed it means members can no longer post any message in it. A thread will usually get closed if the thread is against the TSF rules.

Quote:
Also does a thread count as answered if only I've added posts myself with more info?
I am pretty sure it will. Once a thread has got more than 1 reply in it will not show up as Unanswered.

Hope this helps.

C
If you mean the ones next to the list of threads, there is a key to these at the bottom of the page.
If you need to add to a post within 30 mins you can use the Edit button on the bottom right of your post to add to your post. If you can no longer edit and have to post again, this will be added to your post count.
Hope that answers your questions. If not please give further information.
Regards,
Pilot.

Re: Hi folks! First time poster..

Thanks guys, It's maddening having a computer that won't do as it's told. And a bit worrying. I think that now, after a few initial posting ettiquette faux pas I've got the hang of it, and I'll enjoy picking your brains when the need arises, and also sharing my limited knowledge of things technical. Cheers guys.
