Thumbs Down Aloha!

This isn't gonna please none of you much, but I'm having MONDO problems for the first time w/ a piece of HP equipment, and the thing is, I'm a loyal HP client. Never a problem till now. And it's a BIGGIE!!Kill me now.

I rodeo and show Palomino Quarter Horses quite a bit, have a nice little 97 acre ranch and a bunch of toys to play with but ten days ago MY OWN PALOMINO decided he wasn't in the mood to load so he backed out of the trailer and slammed me to the ground. I now have two broken vertebrae and E.R. Doc says not much can be done, just take it easy for 6-8 weeks ... or longer. He also gave me a scrip for MOTRIN! Now I'm talking MAJOR PAIN here, I can feel the bones grinding against each other and Dude gives me freakin' Motrin. Shoot, I already had Advil. *SCREAM!*

Well, a couple of months ago my Beloved Laptop prompted me to create a D: drive, a so-called HP Recovery drive. Not only that, I have 13 CDs I was also prompted to burn as backups. But get a load of it: When I created the Recovery Drive my DVD/CD-Rom disappeared! I'm not afraid to dig around my hard drive at all so that I did and could find no evidence that I ever had that drive on this stupid machine. It like to drove me right out of my skull because the more I dug, the more problems I actually created -- For example: I'm the listed ONLY user and Administrator however each time I attempt to change a setting it tells me I don't have Admin privileges. *SCREAM!!* The list goes on and on ... But I know I'm boring you to death and puttin' y'all to sleep. I just wanted to say hi tonight, and give you a little preview of my plethora of problems w/ a barely year old laptop. And I wanted to yell a little -- it really makes me feel better!

I imagine y'all are sleepin' tight by now but I'll check back tomorrow. If anyone has any ideas at all feel free to sing out and I promise you, I'll you forever! I've had more migraines over this Evil Machine than I can even count!

Welcome back, Samantha, and we wish you a speedy recovery. Please keep in mind the instructions you were given last time on the 'disappearing optical drive' issue: http://www.techsupportforum.com/927230-post23.html

Re: Aloha!

Hi Sami~,
Sorry to hear about your problems, both with the horse and your laptop. This isn't the same one you had problems with before is it?
Regards,
John.
