Hello, Colleagues All,
I live in Melbourne, Australia and am a semi-retired IT consultant and contractor. After careers in civil/structural engineering and enterprise-level systems development and management, I have now gone back to my roots, so to speak and look after the systems of some of my small-business clients who regard me as a security blanket and will not let me go away. In between times, I feed and talk to the jackdaws and assorted parrots who visit me. My non-professional interests include chess, cycling, reading (mainly detective novels) and enjoying a bottle of good wine with friends.
I really need this forum, because I am a database designer and my PC is simply the drawing board upon which I express myself. After reading "I Sing The Body Electronic" about life in Microsoft, I have reached the conclusion that the Microsoft mode of thought is somewhat beyond my simple brain and the fact that there appear to be some MS insiders and other gurus posting to this forum offers me genuine comfort. ~(B-:^)>
