lcd monitor repair

Hello, I'm new, obviously. I have never posted to a forum. It is confusing. But I learn as I go. I taught myself how to build and repair computers and laptops at component level, format, fdisk, re-install os. Now I would like to try to discover the seemingly huge secret of lcd monitor repar. I have done endless searches on google and can't find anything. The sites that say I can get a service manual have inoperative links. I can't figure this out on my own. I guess if someone can point me to a good entry level circuit diagnostic "how to" book I will buy it and get started. Thanks, Steve

Welcome to TSF, Steve. Can't say I can help you with the monitor repair question - my way of fixing them is a one-step process: return to supplier for replacement. Enjoy your time here.

Re: lcd monitor repair

about 90 percent of the LCD monitors we repair are all due to bad capacitors ,those that are can shaped and swollen on top or bottom.another possibility is pico fuses.
You can also do a google search for bad caps for lcd, sometimes you will find more info for LCD monitors.some sites tell you to register, but sometimes if your willing to give email, they will send free newsletter to you with lots of info, tips, and tricks for LCD repair. I have a list of several but I may not can put in this forum.
