Problems with GPU folding.

Well ive decided to give GPU folding another go. And well ive hit a wall.

Ive configured the program to run on my second card and it sort of works. The WU is downloaded and decompressed. The viewer shows my Username and team number.
It does its usual warm up test and then begins to run the work. This is where it gets interesting. It will start the WU and it will do 0.003% and stop, 5secs later it will begin again but then stop abruptly after no more then a split second. During time time it has stopped my Username and Team No. would of disappeared, it will start again and then stops, and the cycle continues.
Ive left it for 10mins to find that when i put my cursor over the tray icon it reads "Working 0/0".

Anyone got anyideas?

Note* Just tried it on my Primary GPU and it does the same thing.

Re: Problems with GPU folding.

I used to get the same problem. I think it is just the WU itself.
Is it project 5910 or 5911? If so, that is expected behaviour.
What temps are the cards running at?

Re: Problems with GPU folding.

Its Project 5905. The temp sits at 60c with my fan at 70%.
Ive checked the logs and it seems to be running ok, ive just started the folding back up and its resumed from a checkpoint.

Also what are the cmd lines for the desktop shortcut to set Core Priority [High]

Re: Problems with GPU folding.

I'd just wait and see how it goes. Like I said, I used to have this problem all the time a few months back. I spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong with my computer but it was just the WU itself.
The thread here says that they expect varying times per frame.
It frustrated the heck out of me.

Edit: Not sure what you mean by cmd line? Are you running the Systray version or console client? If it's Systray there is a slider in the advances settings. If it's console client you have these two options:
Quote:
Core Priority (idle/low) [idle]?

This adjusts the FAH client priority level. This is not the same as the Windows priority setting. In most cases, the default setting is recommended.

CPU usage requested (5-100) [100]?

This will adjust the percentage of CPU usage. The FAH client only users spare CPU cycles not used by other programs, so reducing this setting is not typically necessary. However, if you want to lower system temperatures, or reserve CPU cycles for more intensive computer tasks, enter a number below 100.
To enter these, point your cmd to where the fah.exe is and add -configonly to the end.
