I will get you Mcninjaguy!

I look at KakaoStats from time to time and notice that Mcninjaguy and I trade off every once in a while on who gets the higher points per day.

This is what it has to say today.

http://kakaostats.com/u.php?u=1344432

Apparently, as of this moment, I will overtake you in the year 2034.

Although my PPD, as reported on xcpus.com, doesn't look that good. I've been dual booting into linux lately and it's been hot here (well hot for Seattle) lately and I haven't fixed my heat issues inside my case.

I am assuming, barring me or anyone else getting there hands on a bunch of PS3's, that no one is going to catch Mattlock.

Where has everyone gone. Our numbers look down from a month or two ago and there are a lot of zeros in the points today column.

I'm still up for a contest.

TSF mouse pads anyone?

Well, I'm not speaking to you, since you recently overtook me...

As long as I can stay ahead of JtP, I'll be happy.

I understand.

I'm still waiting to hear from Mcninjaguy. The threat is real(or as real as 20+years can be) and I'm itching to upgrade the gpu on my HTPC.

I love me some friendly competition hahaha.

I'm hoping to get a server computer from a friend eventually to set up as just a dedicated F@H computer.

I have my GTX 260 overclocked by 20% so that gives me a big jump on you Pauldo. I have got to go right now but I'll reply back with whatever.

Looks like I need to upgrade my HTPC so it can do something more than just the windows client at a snails pace.

Home Theater Personal Computer.

As for the contest, I approached admin several times to get his thoughts on the matter and was even willing to have stickers made for the winning team at my own expense, but I got no response. So I gave up on the idea.

BTW, Mcninja....what happened to you? You were gunning for me there for a minute. I thought you would at least take a firm grip on second place before throwing in the towel.

Re: I will get you Mcninjaguy!

I am still folding but I had a couple issues with Windows 7. My network connection randomly craps out on me when using F@H for some reason.

I 've had a quick lok at the highly improved W7 firewall and have disabled my UPnP connections and enabled a couple more things especially things to do with F@H. I don't run F@H too much but I am currently getting back into and I hope to dominate second place eventually.

Re: I will get you Mcninjaguy!

99 days and you're toast eh. According to the link Pauldo posted, anyway. Been having some issues with the GTX285, fah seems to stall on me. Get home and it won't be doing anything, oh well, at least the 9800GT keeps on plugging away quietly. Reinstalled yesterday, see if it's still folding when I get home in a few hours.

Did you try the latest drivers (186.18) for your 285?

Re: I will get you Mcninjaguy!

Think I'm still on the 185.somethings, will give them a shot. Did the same again today, always at the start of a work unit, about 100-400 in. Naturally, the end of one and start of another that I watched this morning worked no problems.

I had some stability issue out of the the 185 drivers. So far the 186.18 release is rock solid.

Re: I will get you Mcninjaguy!

I've downloaded and installed the 186's, I'll give them a shot when I go to bed and see if it's still going when I get up. Or, if I stay up all night, I'll start fah before I (hopefully) head to the golf course.

Been running for a little less than 8 hours now, the new drivers seem to have done the trick.

Re: I will get you Mcninjaguy!

I still dont trust the GPU folding it puts to much stain on the PSU. I did a test folding on my GPU for 5mins and just one of my GTX280 was drawing 60A-65A (Nvidia states that these cards will only draw a max of 40A at peak.. Lol are they wrong it peaks at 75A for me) from the 12v line (Max is 80A for my PSU). Ive decided to buy a SilverStone Stalker 1500W it has 120A on the 12v more than enough to Run both my GPUs in SLI.

But ive now got 2 folding programs running on my Quad so ive got some catching upto do of my own.

Re: I will get you Mcninjaguy!

What are you using to get those numbers? It is very unlikely that a single video card under load would draw 720-780w. If that was the case you couldn't run those two cards with any kind of stability on a 1000w PSU.

Re: I will get you Mcninjaguy!

Well its either displaying the wrong current reading. Or the voltage has been dropped. I believe the cores of the GTX run at 3.31v and the VRAM runs at 1.11v.
Looking over it i have found the errors in my ways, when i put Everest sensor readings on my G15 LCD screen i edited the name to fit it on. In the sensor readings its labeled as "GPU1 VRM" ive just got it as "GPU1A".
Its not monitoring the entire cards current draw just the VRAM current. So the VRAM is using 60W to 80W of power.

Its strange that the EX-58 Extreme only monitors two types of Hardware current draw, Is it not possible for a motherboard to monitor anything else?

Re: I will get you Mcninjaguy!

Ah much more realistic. 5 to 6.6A = 60 to 80w.

GPU folding is the cats meow...I have two GTX260s, both running on 650w PSUs, folding 24/7....if they're not folding the processing Zombie body counts in L4D. :) and have no issues (other than when I was running those crappy 185.xx Nvidia drivers)
