Upgrading F@H running as a service

Ages ago I managed to get the console version (5.04) set up as a service, and since then I have just left it to get on with it.

I notice that it is rather out of date, and wondered if there is any benefit in installing the latest version.

And if I do, how do I?
The download page talks of needing to uninstall any existing services before installation. What does this involve?
Also, how do I stop or modify my present F@H now it is "hidden" in the background of my PC?

Thanks

Re: Upgrading F@H running as a service

To delete the F@H service open a cmd window and type the following.
"sc delete <service name>" Just look in taskmanager for the service name.
Make a back up of the work folder, queue.dat, client.cfg and the FahCore_XX.exe. Then update the F@H (copy the zip into the same directory as your current one) and run the setup.

Re: Upgrading F@H running as a service

OK, I tried the sc command, but got the error "The specified service does not exist as an installed service".
Yet I can see it with component services: services (local).
2 things are shown as running in task manager, the FAH.exe and also the chosen core for the work unit (this takes up the most CPU power!).

I can start it and stop it with component services, but there is no option to delete.

Re: Upgrading F@H running as a service

Doh!

I tried running the exe in a command window with the -config flag, and found that a remove from service option is written in!

Coincidently, for anyone else trying this, I stopped the service first using administrative tools>component services. And got the dos (command) window by start menu run: then typed cmd
