Increased points per WU

I'm using the SMP 5.92 beta client on a dual core, which usually gives the standard 1760 points per WU. I've just started a new WU (Gromacs Project 3060) and it's saying the points on completion will be 2539.

The ETA is about 18 hours higher than my usual, so I'll miss the preferred deadline by just a few hours, but easily make the final deadline.

Has anyone else had one of these high-point WUs, and are they common?

Re: Increased points per WU

I got 3065 a few days ago. It's worth 2144pts. According to the point sheet 3060 is worth the most points at the current time followed by 3065.

Re: Increased points per WU

Thanks, Matt. I didn't know there were different points depending on the project number. All my SMPs so far have been 1760 points each, so I thought they all were.

How did you get that WU? Special request? All of mine have been the standard 1760.

Re: Increased points per WU

I use FahMon to keep track of things, and didn't realise I'd been allocated a high-point WU until I noticed it was taking longer than the usual 20 minutes to complete 1%.

The total 'points per day' stays about the same as for a standard 1760 WU, in fact there's a slight drop, so there's no real advantage to these higher point WUs.

Re: Increased points per WU

Glas, be careful about what you wish for.... I used to get nothing but 1760s but lately they've come in a variety of values (1324, 1440, 1760, & one 2144)

BTW Koala, Congrats on passing the 100,000 milestone.
