Attention SMP Users! Beta Expired, New Client Released

The Beta has expired, so you will need to install the newly released beta:
Single core CPU
6.01 Beta3 for Windows Console
6.02 Beta2 for Windows Graphical Client

Dual/Quad core cpu (high performance client)
5.91 Beta6 For Windows SMP client
6.00 Beta2 Linux SMP client

Your current client will continue to run until as long as it's not shutdown. Once you shutdown the client it will not restart.

The new client is set to expire in 6 months, but stanford expects it to go final prior to that, so it would not expire.

Beta clients expiration -- new clients available
The beta clients will be expiring tomorrow, but new ones are up. There's a 6 month expiration on these, although we are expecting several of them to go final much sooner than that (and thus no expiration date) since the beta has gone very smoothly. You can find the new beta clients on the download page.
The new client can be downloaded from http://folding.stanford.edu/English/Download.

Re: Attention SMP Users! Beta Expired, New Client Released

I've updated all three Linux SMPs and it is very easy.

For Linux users, download the new client (6.00 Beta2) and extract to files your desktop.

Stop the folding client and drag the FAH6 and MPI files to the Folding root folder. When asked if you want to replace the existing files click yes.

That's it start Folding again.

Re: Attention SMP Users! Beta Expired, New Client Released

For Windows XP users, download and extract client 5.91 beta6. You will be advised that an older version has been detected on your system and would you like to uninstall - say 'Yes'. The older client will be removed and the new client installed. The updated client can be installed into the same directory as the first. I ran the install.bat file again, although I don't think it was really necessary. It will also pick up and continue any WU you happened to be in the middle of running.

Re: Attention SMP Users! Beta Expired, New Client Released

I use the v6 beta graphic client which expired too and all i had to do was replace the old fah6-win-x86.exe file with the new one that i just downlaoaded with the new beta they have now and it is working just as good as it did without losing any work at all.

little late but just incase anyone wants to know

Thanks snoop - I reckon we've covered the main options now.
