Re: core load
You can either run 2 instances of the single core client or one instance of the SMP client.
The SMP client is worth more points per WU (roughly 1300-1760 per WU) but has tighter deadlines (3-4 days) than the single core client. The Beta for the SMP client is due to expire very soon and another client will be released. The deadlines will be made longer in the new client. Instructions and can be found in the following links: http://fahwiki.net/index.php/FAH_%26...ltiple_Clients http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandeg...g/FAQ-SMP.html Last edited by mattlock; 02-01-2008 at 11:10 PM. |

Re: core load
I had to download a new beta this morning - couldn't understand why the client wouldn't start.
![]() However, it did continue with my current WU, which was sitting at 66% completed. Interestingly, it's now doing 1% in 18 minutes and my temps are steady at 47C. On the previous beta this WU had slowed to around 23 minutes per 1% with temps at 50C - and I'm still running much the same additional programmes (and I still have the central heating on ).
