i hear your concern john, but i've been running it for days, not 24/7 but pretty often and kept checking everest and the temps stay pretty much the same, probably the same temp increase as a bit of light gaming, thats my experience anyway.

Joe - still folding first work unit (320/1500)

Re: Which program do you most want us to team up in?

I've got a major problem with it, was working through a core, had to reboot due to a huge memory lag, before this has reset to the last save point, this time it reset to the begging, when i was on like 300 or something. Obviously this is a major setback as it has taken to get to the 300 or so. any Help?

Great news kodi I am sure that will help others, funny thing though I just installed it on my vista machine and it ran straight off no problem, been running about 12 hours or so and it finished 1 WU

Yes it will somewhat, typically my systems run in the low to mid 40'sC in a room temp of 78F when running 100% cpu useage, for instance,,,,,,,,,

2500+ semperon running XP on stock cooling with thermal pad is running at 46C

3400+ 64 clawhammer running vista with aftermarket cooling and artic silver 5, running at 42C. This is with fan turned up mid way 3600 rpm.

You really don't have to worry unless temps approach 60C

make sure you click "OK" after making the change or it won't keep the changed info.

A checkpoint is just that so you will loose some info when you quit the program but it should not go back to zero.

BTW if you have to you can pause the program this way you loose no work but if you shut down or reboot you will loose some depending on the checkpoint frquency.

All the checkpoint frequency is, is that the WU saves its work to the hardisk more often

Currently the only TSF team is with folding@home, if you download the program right click on it in the task bar then choose "configure" then enter

85015 under "team number" and you will be apart of the TSF team

I think I'll load it on Mrs. yustr's XP machine and ask the Alt Comp crew to have a look.

That said - you smart guys keep working to get it all figured out for us noobs...How cool would it be to have 20,000 TSF members all working the problem simultaneously...

Not very likely, in fact the response has been very disappointing.
No more than ten members AFAIK.
