Re: Which program do you most want us to team up in?

From the Folding@Home FAQ page:
Quote:
Can I run Folding@home when SETI@home is running? Yes, Seti@Home and other distributed applications can be run alongside Folding@Home, provided you have enough system memory. Some programs, including Seti@Home run at a higher priority than Folding@Home, which prevents Folding@Home from progressing if it is run at the same time. If you notice that Folding@Home is not progressing, you can fix this by enabling the "Slightly Higher Priority" Option in Folding@Home. This can be done through the advanced options page for the Windows client, or by running "FAH2Console -config" for the console versions.

Because of the system lag at this time of day I didn't see your reply before I edited my post above, but thanks for that.

Re: Which program do you most want us to team up in?

i joined the folding team as well, its quite effecient, one frame of 1500 solved!

EDIT: i'm a tad confused, i put the right team number in and so on, but when i click to go to stats it goes to the right TSF page on the stats section, but i'm not on the list, just jason and koala, is this purely as i havenfinished any work units yet?

The published scores are based on work units, not individual frames or points. When you've completed the 1500 frames (this number is different each time) the site will update its statistics, although it might take a few hours to show up.

Re: Which program do you most want us to team up in?

I joined the folding team only to be told that my graphics card is not good enough.
Looks like it will have to wait till my new build is completed.

Re: Which program do you most want us to team up in?

kodi, it sounds like you've downloaded the wrong setup file (Windows XP/Vista GPU client 5.91b5). This one uses the graphics card's GPU rather than the CPU for faster processing, but this only works on certain models of ATI cards.

The first one listed on the download page, Windows 2000/XP/Vista Graphical client 5.03, is the standard version.

If you're having trouble with that one, the third one in the list, Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista "No nonsense" text-only console 5.04, is the command line version which runs in a small DOS window on any computer.

Re: Which program do you most want us to team up in?

kodi, some WU's are smaller and you earn less points for them because they complete quiker than larger ones.

The point system is not based on work units that are completed but the complexity of the WU.

I have been very busy lately and have the time to deditcate to this and have not installed or joined the team yet, that will change soon.

After I get to know the program and there system I should be able to help answer questions better

Re: Which program do you most want us to team up in?

@Koala. I've set Folding@home to higher priority, but it's alway Seti@home that shows as my screensaver. Despite this, during normal use my CPU usage is at 100% and it's Folding@home that is using it. I don't like to keep running my CPU like this. Any ideas or suggestions.
