LDAP Single Sign On and Permission

Hello, I'm new to LDAP and not exactly sure how to best do this. We are using LDAP at work so that we can have single sign on for the applications we are making. But I need to figure out how to best store permissions for users so they can only access the applications they have permission to use and at different levels within each application.
