Really dumb question
Okay, I really didn't want to waste your time, but I can't find any other way. I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to share a Java program. I have spent hours googling it, but everything I have found tells me to use command prompt commands that my command prompt doesn't recognize. I've got JCreator LE and Eclipse for IDEs, and I know how to run it in them, but I want to know how to run it on a computer that doesn't have an IDE. Can anyone help me?

Re: Really dumb question
Hey, i could help you to an extent, but this will help you better: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/deployment/jar/
Bundle your program up into a jar file. If your computer doesn't recognise the commands it's probably because they're part of JDE and you're in your program's directory, as such you will need to use the entire path of the command or read section 5 of this tutorial on setting the windows path variable. As for running it on another computer, you must at least have JRE installed as bytelogik has said... You must also make sure that the JRE version is high enough to handle your program. If you get stuck anywhere there please post back. Cheers, Jamey |
