Assembly language book suggestions?
Hey all, i'm starting to work with assembly (specifically the MASM/HLA style syntax) and i'd love to know if anyone's got any suggestions towards good ASM books?
I'm considering buying "The Art of Assembly language" (2nd Ed), of course the wait sucks a little but the content is very promicing... I've got a few tutes that i've had a look at but i want something solid. Any suggestions/help would be amazing. Cheers, Jamey |

Re: Assembly language book suggestions?
the book... Assembly Language for Intel-Based Computers By Kip R. Irvine (here's an online preview), it's a bit pricey though.
you can get a nice pdf version of Art of Assembly by Randy Hyde here, and print it for a hard copy. a must have for serious hacking is Ralf Brown's Interrupt List (or an online HTML Version). and Iczelion did a fair bit of stuff... Wikibooks has a pdf on x86 Assembly. actually, you can get a great deal of info from poking around Wikipedia, their Assembly language page has lots of links and the x86 assembly language page has links to the Intel and AMD manuals! also check out The MASM Forum

Re: Assembly language book suggestions?
Cheers for the info Stu, i've pre-ordered the second edition of "The Art Of Assembly"... And have previously dabbled using the origional edition. I'll take a look at all the links =] thanks for being thorough =].
I've also taken a look at iczelion's tutes but they're a bit more for when you've worked with assembly and want to work with the windows api to add GUIs and so on... So the begginner's touch is what i'm after for now. Thanks a bunch, Jamey |
