.dat file help

I've been using this batch file to transfer information from our accounting computer to another computer to process information.

We have always used floppy disk to transfer the information, but lately the file size have been to large to use floppies. Can any one help me figure out make this .dat file to write into a cd-rw instead of a floppy disk.

Here is the file.

Thanks,

Re: .dat file help

You'd need to install something like Drive Letter Access (Some OEM PC's may already have it installed, it just needs to be enabled)
Then just change the drive letter to that of the Burner.

A USB Flash drive would be another option. I'm assuming the other computer can't be accessed from this network, or you could transfer the file directly over the network.
Another option would be to use 7-Zip (or any other Zip/RAR utility) to split the file into floppy sized chunks. 7 zip can be used from the Command Line, and also has a separate Command Lline version.

Would take a bit more coding to determine how many files were created, and to prompt the user to insert disks, but wouldn't be too hard.
If you download the SFXs for installers, you can make a self extracting file so the destination PC doesn't need to have the zip program installed.
