Hmm, seems to work fine for me.
Here's the test files I'm using:
C:\Scripts\boot.cmd:
Code:
@Echo Off
Set _SafeMode=0
For /F "Tokens=1,2 Delims== eol=" %%I In (C:\boot.ini) Do (
If /I %%I==Default Set _Default=%%J
If /I %%I==^;SafeBootInifile Set _SafeMode=1
)
If %_SafeMode%==1 Goto _InSafeMode
attrib C:\boot.ini -s -r -h
If NOT Exist boot.tmporg Ren C:\boot.ini boot.tmporg
>C:\boot.ini Echo [boot loader]
>>C:\boot.ini Echo timeout=5
>>C:\boot.ini Echo default=%_Default%
>>C:\boot.ini Echo [operating systems]
>>C:\boot.ini Echo %_Default%="Windows XP Safe Mode" /noexecute=alwaysoff /fastdetect /safeboot:minimal(alternateshell)
>>C:\boot.ini Echo ;SafeBootInifile
attrib C:\boot.ini +h +r +s
Reg Export "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Command Processor" C:\HKLMCP.txt
Reg Add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Command Processor" /v AutoRun /T REG_SZ /d "C:\Scripts\Test.cmd" /F
Echo Your PC is now set to start in Safe Mode.
Echo Please Reboot the PC now
Pause
Goto :EOF
:_InsafeMode
Echo PC restarted in Safe Mode and ran the %~dpnx0 file.
:: Restore boot.ini and Registry keys
attrib C:\boot.ini -s -r -h
Del C:\boot.ini
Ren C:\boot.tmporg boot.ini
attrib C:\boot.ini +h +r +s
Reg Delete "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Command Processor" /F
Reg Import C:\HKLMCP.txt
Del C:\HKLMCP.txt
Echo Your PC is now set to start normally.
Echo Please Reboot the PC now
Pause
Goto :EOF
C:\Scripts\test.cmd
Code:
@Echo Off
Echo This file is auto run when booted to safe mode.
:: Place code to execute in Safe Mode here
Call c:\Scripts\boot.cmd
