Gained:
- New programmers cannot commit pointers errors (arithmetic errors or segmentation-fault errors) - Array notation is easily readable to new programmers Lost - The ability to move pointers arbitrarily over the memory to read or modify it Then, they removed pointers to get a simpler but less powerful language. |
