what should i do next ?
ive got my certificate for cisco hp IT essentials hardware and software 1 level 2 i was told by the college that it was the same as comptia A+ is it ? is it recognised by employers as being so ? also where do i go from here i was told by my tutor to do mcdst as i have no real interest in networking well not on the large side of it anyway im looking to go back to college in september so im looking for some guidance my career goal really is just to build repair and troubleshoot home and small office computers/networks.

Well I think that you're the only one that can answer that question. I would take stock and see what you like to do, perhaps get a job/intership doing some PC repair. You might be able to transfer the cisco cert for A+ or just take the A+ test. Certs are a good thing to have but you really should have the hands on experience to apply it otherwise it is just a useless paper you've spent a lot of money on.

well the college i took the cisco course at was calling it comptia a+ but it is a cisco cert :s i cant take the a+ as i have no money as yet ( i got the cisco course for free :)) and the mcdst im also going to be getting free
