Hi. My name is Mike and i am starting a PC repair business soon and need to know how do I go about installing a OS on a customers PC. Do you I charge them for a license? can I buy a certain version from Microsoft that allows me to install on many computers? I saying this only if customer doesn't have there install CD and hard drive partition is corrupt. Any insight on this would be very helpful! Thank you

Re: installing Os on customer Pc

I dont own a pc repair business. But I do build and repair alot on the
side. What I do for a new build is buy a oem copy of the os. Cheaper,
and I tell the client that the oem os stays with the pc, I give them the
option of full version which can go to any machine, or oem. But I know
you can buy mutiple licenses from micro soft, if you do alot I think
that may be cheaper..Others in here that run a pc business will
probably post more info......
