Where should I start?
Hey everyone, I need some help on choosing the correct degree for me. I am going to attend Wayne State University here in Michigan. It's about the 3rd highest-enrollment wise in MI. I haven't finished High School yet but when I do I am hoping to be a Software Engineer.
I'm about 16 so my knowledge is limited. I have some moderated experience in computer, I have built my own computer and am familiar in software as well. Nothing very advanced, such as, I have no coded any programs/scripts. But I do have HTML knowledge. My question to you is, what type of degree is most widely accepted, what courses should I take, what certs should I take, am I on the right path and do you have any tips?

Re: Where should I start?
Usually a four-yr degree should be Comp Sci in Business. That's generic. Of course, when you are attending, you will find what interests you for more specific technical electives.
Since technology is constantly advancing, you should decide for yourself what interests you most. If you take classes in a specific area and it doesn't really interest you, you won't do well in class and your career will falter afterward Its good for you to be asking now. Make long-range plans and stick with them. Adjust very slightly as you see the marketplace change. But keeping to your personal interests and goals is imperative.
