I am at the point in my second business that I need to hire someone to do my ad selling for me. I was thinking of a recent grad student or a college student with of course this type of background. I want to place an ad in my local paper but am having trouble with wording it without sounding too selective.

The business is a direct mail advertising publication.

Any suggestions

I am working on getting some notes together for when I interview what I need to ask. I also need to figure out what to pay them as far as gas/mileage and a commission basis.
It will prob be only part time, because if their good enough they should be able to sell 10- 20 ads in 1 day as I only have about 56 in total. Its a 16 page book.

I will keep your suggestion, I like it thanks.

Not a problem TJ,

I'm used to writing ads etc.

As far as what to pay them, I can't really help you as I'm in Australia; however, maybe a quick phone call to your local Chamber of Commerce or Business Bureau might give you some ideas.

Here in Oz the majority of salespeople work on a Commission Basis which includes all expenses, but of course it could be entirely different where you are.
