Removing malware

I am running a Kaspersky scan and it is indicating that I have a virus....I suspect it a quarantined item it picked up before, which I removed. If it is the same one, I just want to check the correct order in which one removes malware.

1. run scan
2. remove malware
3. turn off system restore
4. reboot
5. turn system restore back on

Is this correct please?

Seems right to me.

here is a good guide for malware removal. Disabling system restore in many cases is not a necessity though it can be used for your advantage in many cases.
