Help with new computer

Just received a new computer with win XP. When setting the computer up Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security loaded.

Is this something I want?

I had planned on using AVG antivirus software. Do I still need this. I would just as soon get my own updates and avoid paying for the antivirus.

Your suggestions?

Trend is suppose to be Top 2 Antivirus software. Even i use the same & its works fine for me.. I am sure its better than AVG.

My System

If you have to pay for it to use it, I'd say get rid of it. I use AVG, I like it very much, and wouldn't switch for anything. My opinion.
