e-mail password theft

someone that new my information logged into my e-mail acct in aol and changed the password and security question now i can't get in to changed it or deactivate it and the person is sending e-mails to from my e-mail acct to my other e-mail acct horrible things what can i do i'am going nuts

Hi, welcome to TSF

Contact AOL. They will be able to see from the IP addresses and the dates that something is not right.

While you're waiting for a reply from AOL, setup a filter in your email client to block all messages from your old address.

thanks very much for your reply but i've tried so very much to contact aol and it seems impossible the the person is now contacting my contacts and erased all my contacts so i don't even have them to contact them
