will these 2 clash?

Hi.

I've got Norton internet security 2009, with all features enabled. Real time monitoring etc.

I've also got spyware terminator with real time protection on. I like it because it picks up a lot of spyware downloads for me. It also picks up alot of things norton and other spyware programs do not pick up.

Will these 2 programs clash?

They shouldn't, but doesn't NIS 2009 already have spyware scanning? You'll suffer a performance hit with two of them running.

09 version of Norton is pretty good on program conflicts so you shouldn't have much trouble. Though i agree with johnwill, you really only need one real time scanner running and Norton does scan for spy ware.

Re: will these 2 clash?

Hi pearce88,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.

Norton Internet Security 2009 is a full-featured real-time security suite that includes Antivirus, Spyware protection, Identity protection, Antiphishing and many other features including a full-featured Firewall. I would strongly advise you to uninstall any other third-party, real-time internet security application or antivirus, as it can cause conflicts Norton Internet Security and leave your computer vulnerable to infection.

The rule of thumb is that you never want to have more than one real-time internet security application, antivirus and Firewall running at the same time. You also want to make sure that the Windows Firewall is disabled as well to avoid conflicts with the Norton Firewall.

Thank you,
Mike
