Network security help please

okay so here is my problem.
i'm connected to the internet, my laptop connects wirelesly into my wireless router which plugs into my modem, i changed my routers options to use it as an access point and access point only so i cannot use or access any of the settings in my wireless router and i use my modem settings which is a speedstream 4200 and i was wondering if there was a way to protect my wireless internet with a password. or even block internet access unless a password is entered, does anyone know of such a thing? or is the a program or anything i could use to do this?

You can setup wireless encryption, which requires a key in order to connect.
