scan my downloads

I am looking for a program that scans downloads that I download from the web before they hit my computer. I like to download a lot and I seem to get quit some virus and spyware from that and I am wondering if anyone knows any programs?

Re: scan my downloads

If you are downloading directly to a local drive, how can you scan a file before it hits your computer? You have to enable Real-Time scanning which most have.

If a nasty comes in and the antivirus catches it with it's scan heuristics, it will quarantine the files for you.

So unless you want a seed box somewhere to log in to and download everything there first and scan it, just get a decent antivirus and let it update when it needs to.

Re: scan my downloads

try NOD32 trial version
http://www.eset.eu/download/trial

(www.eset.com is the site you want but its down at the moment)

I've been using it for about a year and a half now and I've never had any problems with viruses its a trial so no worries about buying it yet. yu'll like it I'm sure.

I never have to worry about scanning. it uses up around 45mb of ram and maybe 1% CPU usage in the background
