Re: which AV ?
I Tried AVG but its a bit power hungry ( only 1GB RAM ) and does'nt even have a firewall. Im trying Eset at the moment. I must say i like the lack of bells and whistles it makes it a very light perfect for users with low RAM. I wish more company's concentrated on an effective AV instead of adding applications we don't want or need.
Norton- to many negative posts in forums to even try it. Avast may be useful one day as it can scan on boot ( Can anyone inform me if this means it can catch a virus or worm etc which is hiding in the MBR ?) PS- thanks for suggestions

Re: which AV ?
I recommend Avast 4.8 Home edition. Easy to install. Boot time scan available. Advanced "Move to chest" facility available. Updates once in every 4 Hrs. One year subscription. Manual updates also available. Uses less system resources.
Avira is also fine. U can try Quick Heal Total Security 2008 which includes Antivirus,Anti spyware, Antispam, Antimalware. |
